It was about half price and the mower I traded in was ancient. The mower had a problem in the first year where it wasn’t holding a charge, but it was under warranty and an authorized repair shop nearby fixed that.About a month ago, it started exhibiting the same symptoms so I started looking into replacing the battery. In the process, I discovered a warranty recall for an electrical problem, so I figured I’d go into the shop, get the warranty work done, and see how much labor would cost on a battery. Turns out they were also running a special tune up of sorts where the total cost would not exceed $200, including any parts needed. Given that a battery is about $125, this was a good deal. And, BTW, it was the same shop where I had the work done originally.After a week, I went to the pick it up expecting a new battery, the rubber thing on the back replaced, and maybe new hand grip rubber. What I got looks essentially like the CMM1200, including a CMM1200 housing and handle. The parts stamp (created new for the housing), says it’s a CMM1000 type 4. The net is that it’s like get ting a completely new mower. This thing now sounds stronger than when it was new.It’s been just a few weeks, and my yard is typical California suburbia, but I’m feeling pretty good about this investment. I would have been happy to cash it in after 10 years and get a new one. But to be able to get likely a few more years out of this same mower? I’m way ahead no matter how you look at it.
